Research

The Westerly Centre, founded in 1982, is made up of the people who are conducting the research on which our Centre is based.

These people are largely comprised of our members, who collectively represent decades of experience in the research of Australian literary studies.

Most of our members are academics at UWA, and as such, have supervised many postgraduate students who have themselves gone on to make major contributions to the field.

The Centre is also associated with a number of writers who have had active roles in its activities, or published regularly with Westerly magazine.

In addition, the Westerly Centre hosts a number of visitors each year. These writers and academics play a vital role in maintaining a dynamic Centre for research in Australian literary and cultural studies.
