Since 1956, Westerly has been publishing lively fiction and poetry as well as intelligent articles.
The journal aims to generate interest in the literature and culture of Australia, particularly Western Australia, and its neighbouring regions in South-East Asia and the Indian Ocean.
It is published at the Westerly Centre in English and Cultural Studies at the University, with assistance from the Western Australian State Government by an investment in the project through the Department of Culture and the Arts.
Westerly is published twice a year in July and November.
A complete set of Westerly back issues in a fully searchable format, funded by a grant from the Cultural Fund of the Copyright Agency and internal funding from UWA, will be available in 2012.
